Junior Golf @ WGA

Our last summer camp of the school holidays takes place next Thursday 26th August for 8-12 year olds – all abilities welcome and places still available with our PGA coaches Dean and Danny. Drop off is 9am for a day off coaching, skills, drills and games – with prizes ! Pick up at 3.30pm – cost is £40 and we provide all coaching, practice balls and clubs. Just bring snacks and a packed lunch and we’ll do the rest. Call us on 01962 885254 and we can book you in.

And new for September at WGA it’s ‘Goodbye Passport – hello Junior Academy Golf’

Our new after-school programme for ages 7-12 years starts Tuesday, 7th September and runs every week with technical coaching and practice drills, plus end of academic year invites to become WGA Academy Scholars.

Golf is a great sport for juniors! It’s fun, it’s inclusive, it develops confidence, concentration and coordination – and it allows juniors to develop at their own pace.

Since the beginning of WGA, we have always provided a weekly after-school session, and we’re proud of our scholars who learned to love golf right here at the driving range and have gone on to play competitively and for pleasure around the county and further afield. Last year we had to pause our ‘Passport Programme’, but we’re very happy to say that our new-look programme is back!

Our Junior Academy is a weekly (term-long) commitment with a focus on technical coaching lead by one of our PGA team Danny Longman. The hour-long sessions will run every Tuesday (except school holidays) and are perfect for beginners and improvers who have the motivation and discipline to listen, learn and develop. Each term costs £70, and PGA coaching, clubs and practice balls are included.

4pm – 5pm for school years 3, 4, 5 (ages 7-10) – 8 places

5pm – 6pm for school years 6, 7, 8 (ages 10-12) – 8 places

At the end of the academic year, WGA will invite selected juniors to become ACADEMY SCHOLARS and present them with a WGA cap, polo shirt and Privilege Card with range ball credit to encourage ongoing practice and hopefully a lifelong love of golf!
