The 2016 Open Tips from Gary Booth

 

This week is the best week of the year for golfers across the land. The biggest golf tournament of the year comes to Royal Troon and the top golfers from across the globe come to compete for the famous Claret Jug.

 

Previous champions include Phil Mickleson, Todd Hamilton, Stewart Cink, Ben Curtis, David Duval and Justin Learnord, who have all won within the last 20 years. You may notice that I have only listed Americans who have won the Claret Jug, that is because it is difficult not to look past our friends across the pond, who have come over to win this event 13 out of the last 20 times its been held.

 

As much as it pains me, being a keen supporter of the European Tour, I have selected another 3 Americans to lift the trophy on Sunday.
